It’s safe to say that 2020 was a rough year for everyone. We here at the Meltdown started last year with big goals for our small family business.
Celebrating 5 years in business, purchasing a second truck, taking on new events and neighborhoods and carrying new ice cream flavors was exciting to say the least! We were ready to roll! Then just as we were about to start our season in Spring, everything came to a halt.
The Meltdown had not operated a single day in all of 2020. We had to decide what was best for our family and for all of those around us. For the health, safety, and love for the families we would be in contact with, we decided to shut down for the entire year with a hope of going back when it was fully safe for everyone. Through the hardships, pain, and sadness that 2020 brought, we learned some valuable lessons.
We have learned that there is so much to be thankful for and not take for granted. There is more of an appreciation for the little things in life and the importance of doing your part to protect yourself and the people among us. We have been reminded how much we truly appreciate technology as well as being content with what we have and learning to be more resourceful in all aspects of our life. This year sparked more necessary conversations about racism, healthcare, and mental illness within our society.
There were a lot of things that were so negative in 2020, but we want to look forward and try to see the silver lining. Health, a better vision of things that truly matter, and the quality time spent with family is what I thank 2020 for.
I’m entering 2021 cautious but hopeful!
I want to thank my customers for your kind words, thoughts, and support throughout the year. We miss you guys and hope to see you this season!
Thank you to all the essential workers who continue to work through this pandemic because your services are absolutely needed and appreciated by the community. Thank you times a million!
We will continuously evaluate the current health conditions and look forward to operating when safe to do so.
We are in this together! Happy New Year!
